I remain PDP secretary unless Supreme Court says otherwise – Anyanwu
National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Samuel Anyanwu, has clarified that despite a Court of Appeal ruling for his removal, he remains the National Secretary due to an ongoing appeal filed at the Supreme Court.
He affirmed that holds the position legally until a final decision is made by the Supreme Court.
Anyanwu stated this while speaking in a television interview with ace producer and anchor of Nigeria Right Now, Dickson Iroegbu, yesterday.
Acknowledging that the country’s leading opposition party made strategic mistakes in the 2023 general elections, he assured Nigerians that they are working very hard to correct those errors and take back the presidency in 2027.
Anyanwu also emphasised the stability of the PDP, stating that there is no faction led by Ambassador Umar Damagum.
He highlighted the party’s progress in conducting congresses in 29 states, with only minor issues arising.
The National Secretary further addressed his relationship with FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, describing them as long-standing friends since their time as council chairmen.
Anyanwu urged that any grievances against Wike should be formally addressed through the PDP’s Disciplinary Committee.
Speaking further, Anyanwu criticised the state of the nation, attributing the stifling of opposition to the APC-led administration.
